"So Thankful" Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals November Blog Hop, we’re so thankful you stopped by.  This month we’re showcasing projects that feature Stampin’ Up! Thanksgiving and “Thank You” products.  We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or you may have come from the previous blog on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you can enjoy each and every beautiful project.

Today, I am sharing two projects which feature the Square Pillow Box.  They are the perfect size for a small "Thank You" gift.  The first uses the Acorny Thank You stamp set and the Woodland Texture Folder.  Check out the gold doily and bow.  They add just the right touch.

Next, I have used the Festive Flower Builder Punch to make a sunflower.  So quick and easy.  Again, the Woodland Texture Folder is the perfect background.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I want to thank all of my wonderful stampin' friends.  I have made so many wonderful friends through Stampin' UP.  You have all made such a difference in my life.
Thanks for visiting.  To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Halloween and Harvest Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for October where we are celebrating an early Fall season by sharing Halloween and Autumn projects using our wonderful Stampin’ Up! supplies.  We hope you enjoy our creations!
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Beth McCullough at Stamping Mom, number 8 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

Halloween is just around the corner.  Are you ready for some SPOOKY treats?  Check out these cute treat bags which feature the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper. The insert is a 3 7/8" X 10" piece which is scored at 1", 6",  and 8 1/2".  It is added to the Gusseted Cellophane Bag. No adhesive needed.  The cute pumpkin face was stamped using the Sparkly Seasons stamp set.  I used the 2 1/2" circle punch to crop it.  The witches hat was cased from a Chickn Scratch video.  I adhered two trees punched from Black Glimmer Paper to a SU clothespin with glue dots.  Then I punched the hat brim using a 1 1/4" circle punch first and then centering the 2 1/2" circle around the negative space, I punched again.  This was added to the clothespin piece using glue dots.  Remember, other types of adhesive do not work well on the glimmer paper.  Don't forget to make a cute bow using our Bow Builder punch.

Next I made a matching Curvy Keepsake Box.  This time I used a circle framelit to make the hat brim. I used the Word Window punch to make a slit to slip over the handles on the box.  So cute and easy!

The next stop is Michelle Gleeson at StampinMojo, number 10 on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!

One last look at this spooky trio!

Don't forget to check out the FaBOOlous projects from the other Pals.

Sleigh Ride Edgelits--A Spooky Twist.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  I love the spooky decorations, trick or treating with my favorite little ghosts and goblins, and all of the sweet treats. Today, I am sharing a card which features the Sleigh Ride edgelits from the Holiday Catalog.  Don't forget the Holiday Catalog goes live on September 1st!

I used a technique that uses SALT, water and ink to create a background.  Can you believe it!  I recently came across the instructional video on Pinterest done by Jan Tink, a fellow Stampin' Up Demonstrator. I just had to give a try.  Here is just one color combination I tried.

Tangelo Twist and Cajun Craze ink were added to a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Shimmery White cardstock with Stamping Sponges.  I cut my sponges into quarters because they are easier to hold.  Use a circular motion to add the ink to paper and put a lot of ink on the entire piece.  Then mist the inked area with water and immediately sprinkle it with salt (yes, plain table salt).  It is amazing how the salt draws in the water   Be prepared because the paper will roll up.  Because I was impatient and wanted to see the results immediately, I used my heat tool to dry the paper.   Once dry, I brushed off the remaining salt and then added a bit of Cajun Craze to the edges of the cardstock. See where the ink pooled together to make a spooky sky.

The moon is a 2" circle punched from Crushed Curry and inked with Tangelo Twist and Cajun Craze. Then the bats from Witches' Night were stamped with the NEW Basic Black Archival Stamp Pad.

Next I used the Sleigh Ride edgelits to cut the little houses and the trees from Basic Black.  A bit of White Craft ink was sponged along the edges to give some depth.

The "Halloween" sentiment was added by stamping with Versamark and heat embossing in White.

Can't wait to show you my other creations made with blue and purple color combinations.

The Minions are HERE.

With the release of the latest "Minion" movie, these adorable little creatures are everywhere.  They are a favorite of the young and the not so young.  At convention, I received a cute swap from a new friend. It inspired me to make a few little "Minion" bags.  Quick and easy!  You can even change up the eyes or the smile to give them their own personality.

I used the Gift Bag Punch Board and a variety of punches to create them.  Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point are the perfect colors.  A bit of velcro closes the front flap.  I see a few more "minions" in my future.  How about you?

Too Cool for School Pals Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for August.  This month we are showing off our favorite crafting tools – those Stampin’ Up! tools that we just can’t live without.  We hope you enjoy our projects.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Tricia Chuba at ButterDish Designs, number 11 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

Bags, boxes, envelopes, and more!  A tool that does it all.  Of all the punch boards on the market this is the most versatile.  With the holiday season just around the corner, it is a must have.

Check out my project made using the Gift Bag Punch Board. Scroll down through my posts and you will see the bags, triangle boxes and even an envelope all made using this tool.

I have run across several variations on the this theme--Santa coming down the chimney.  With the introduction of the Brick Texture, it was the right time for my version.

Here are a few of the details.

  • The bag is made from Crumb Cake cardstock, 7" x 11" using the Medium Bag instructions.
  • The "brick" texture was added to a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Then I used our round sponge to add Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobble and a bit of Soft Suede to make the chimney.
  • The Holiday Catalog sneak peek "Celebrate the Season" sentiment  can be found in the Happy Scenes stamp set.  It was heat embossed in White.
  • Santa's bag was punched with the owl punch.  Two Whisper White "clouds" using the Tree Builder punch form the pile of snow under the bag.
  • Santa's shoes were made with the Sweetheart punch. A bit of White Craft ink was used to add highlights.
  • Check out the 1/8" Red Striped Ribbon.  Another sneak peek!

I hope you enjoyed my project.  Check back again soon for more Gift Bag ideas.  Now it is time to move down the hop.  Don't miss a single stop!  This is a very talented group.

The next stop is Kalyn Shubnell at The Stampin Chronicals number 13 on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!

Go Wild Gift Card Holder

Today, I want to share our second stamp club project for August.  I cased a swap which I received at convention made by Sue Becker.  Check out her blog, RnR Stamping. I loved the way she used the prints from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack.  I switched up a few things including the "it's your day!"sentiment--which is perfect for many occasions.

Can't wait to try this design with our new Halloween and Christmas Designer Series Papers, which will be available on September 1st.  If you don't have a demonstrator and would like a copy of the catalog, leave a comment or send me an email.  Sherrie.Gross@gmail.com

Garden in Bloom Notepad

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are enjoying a relaxing weekend.  With school just around the corner, many of you may be enjoying a family vacation or maybe some back to school shopping.  Can't believe summer is almost over.

Just wanted to share one of our August Stamp Club projects.  This cute little notepad was inspired by Becky Roberts at Inking Idaho.  She has posted several different versions using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and 3" X 5" index cards.  I designed this version for a 3D swap I participated in at convention.
The index cards are trimmed to 2" x 3" and then punched with the Tag Topper punch.  Each notepad contained 40 sheets, which works out to 5 notepads per package of index cards.  We used the baby wipe technique to stamp the flower and leaves from Garden in Bloom Photopolymer Stamp set.  The flowers are a combination of Crushed Curry, Lost Lagoon, and Blackberry Bliss ink refills.  The leaves are a combination of  Mossy Meadow, Garden Green and Crushed Curry ink refills.  I used an empty stamp case to hold the baby wipes.  The Just a Note comes from the  Watercolor Wishes Card Kit.
Wouldn't these make a great little gift for co-workers and teachers?

Next I plan to use the baby wipe technique to stamp fall leaves using the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set. Check out the stamp set on page 88 of the Annual Catalog.

Stampin' Pretty Guest Stamper - Watercolor Wings

Happy Sunday!
I hope all is well with  you and yours.  Kansas is  experiencing hot and humid days.  At this time of year, the heat is expected but not so much humidity.  Ugh.  So I am spending the day inside working on my swaps for convention, which starts on Thursday.  I can't wait!  It is always exciting to learn new techniques, see new products, and spend time with friends, both old and new.  I am so excited about
getting a sneak peek at the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  I am expecting great new products for the holidays. As a convention participant, I will be able to place an order before the pre-order period starts on August 1st.  So exciting!

Beginning in November, Stampin' Up events will change to a new format.  So I believe this convention will be extra special with a few surprises.

Today, I am honored to be a guest stamper for my upline, Mary Fish.  Mary is such an inspiration and always so generous to her team.

My projects feature several products from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog.  I used the Watercolor Wings stamp set and thinlits.  This set is just gorgeous and coordinates with the Butterfly Basics bundle which was introduced in the Occasions Catalog this past spring.  I am using the color combination of Soft Sky, Mint Macaron, and Tip Top Taupe.  But the possibilities are endless.

For my featured cards the layout is the same but the background texture differs.  One uses the brand NEW Brick Wall and the other the NEW Fluttering Texture folder.  Both folders measure 6" x 6", which is large enough to use in either direction, horizontal or vertical.  Which is your favorite?

Brick Wall

I used a sponge to add Sahara Sand and Tip Tip Taupe to the bricks.  Just image how you can use this folder on your Christmas projects.

Fluttering
The butterflies on the texture folder are different sizes, which adds a lot of interest.  The perfect background for butterfly and floral images.

The "hello" and "thanks" sentiments are from the new Greetings Thinlits.  They are quickly becoming one of my go-to items.

If you have come from Stampin' Pretty, thanks for visiting and I hope you visit again soon.

Garden in Bloom

With the release of every new catalog, my up line Mary Fish hosts a Catalog Reveal online meeting.  It is always great fun.  Lots of surveys, sharing of ideas and a bunch of "prize patrol" giveaways from Mary.  This time I was the lucky winner of my choice in $25 in new product.  I chose the Garden in Bloom Stamp Set.  It is a two step stamp set--such fun.  I just love the little bumble bee. A piece of English Garden DSP was cut to 4" x 51/4" and mounted on the Whisper White cardsstock.  I added the images from Garden in Bloom.  The sentiment is from the new Host set, Floral Wings.  I love the simple font.  Just love the little bumble bee.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge - Triple Banner Sketch

This weeks we have a sketch challenge.  Anyone can play along with the Pals and create your own work of art using this beautiful sketch. Just have fun with it!

I chose to use three print from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack.  Our stacks have been redesigned and are now 6" x 6".  Such a great size.  This stack combines, Basic Black, Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, Old Olive, pacific Point, and Very Vanilla.  The patterns are so pretty- you will love them.  The 48 sheet stack is only $8.  It is a deal.

I used the NEW Triple Layer punch on a 2, 1 1/2 , and 1 inch strips of three paper designs. A sweeet sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts and Pacific Point butterfly are added to complete this pretty card.

Check out the supplies used on my care today.

Hope to hear from you.
