Mosaic Madness

My card was inspired by a one Connie Babbert created.  Check it out on her blog,
Inkspired Treasures.

The Mosaic Madness bundle and texture folder are among my favorites from the Annual catalog.  The Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper coordinates with the Mosaic bundle making it super simple to design great projects. The card base is a 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" piece of Pool Party, scored at 4 1/4".  A 5 1/4" X 4" piece of Whisper White was run through the Big Shot in the Mosaic Texture folder.  A strip of  DSP was added.  One of the Apothecary Accent framelits in Island Indigo is the background for 3 mosaics stamped in Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, and Strawberry Slush.  Designer Pearls were added to the center of the mosaic shapes.

Simply Sketched Hostess Set

The hostess sets in the Annual Catalog are really special this year.  My favorite is the Simply Sketched stamp set.  The images and sentiments are so versatile.  I was particularly drawn to the image of the poppy.  You can stamp directly on your cardstock and add color with Stampin' Write Markers or Blender Pen and stamp pad to make a beautiful focal piece for your card.

I used a blender pen and my Real Red ink pad to add a bit of color to the image.  Quick, easy and you don't have to be exact.  An oval framelit cropped the image which was added to the Whisper White card front.  The sentiment was stamped on a Whisper White label which was cut in half and mounted on a Real Red label piece.  White ribbon and the honeycomb texture add interest to the design.

Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin Kit

Have you signed up for the new Paper Pumpkin kits through Stampin' Up?  I was hesitant but I finally decided to give this new program a try.  This month as a new subscriber I received the introductory kit.  This is the kit everyone starts with and it includes an acrylic block (D), which can be used with subsequent kits.  You can cancel at any time without penalty.
The Paper Pumpkin kit arrives once a month in a cute little box.
Here are more details about the program.

It's a Magical Paper Escape Every Month!

Sweep away the mundane-your creativity carriage awaits!
I'm Paper Pumpkin . . .
I come to your door each month (a fully decked-out creativity carriage). I'll help you to escape your life with some paper fun.
I come in a sweet box, but you'll really love what you find on the inside:
All the stamps, ink, paper, and accessories to create pinable projects. Create stuff like cards, journals, décor, and more!
Paper Pumpkin by Stampin' Up! is a new monthly kit program that anyone (even you) can enjoy!
Get Started
It's so easy to get started. Simply sign up for the program by visiting mypaperpumpkin.com and click Get it. Be sure to choose me as your demonstrator!  Every month a new, surprise project kit arrives at your doorstep. Just think of the anticipation of creating a fun project to pin, showoff, and share with your friends and family every month!
Of course, you'll want to know more. So here's the nitty gritty:
  • Each month we send you a unique, surprise kit with a project-cards, journals, décor, and more! (We've even color-coordinated, measured, and cut everything for you!)
  • Each kit includes stamps, ink, paper, and accessories-everything but adhesive.
  • Each kit gives you and your customer a 30-minute creativity escape.
  • We will ship your Paper Pumpkin on or around the 15th of the month.

Here are the cards I made with the introductory kit, I received this month.  They were quick and easy and some of the ideas were inspired by cards posted on Pinterest.  Two of the cards used only product provided in the kit.  The other two include products from my craft room.

Card #1 - Each kit will come with instructions for a specific card or project using the contents of the kit.  See above the card I made following these instructions.

Card #2 -  I changed the orientation of the card and made a second card.  See above.

Card #3 - I wish I could take credit for the design of this card but I saw this card on Pinterest a few weeks ago and decided to CASE it.  I have not been able to located the name of the designer but will update this post when I locate their name and link.

Card #4 - I used some DSP from the Sale-a-brations promotion and the Window Framelits to complete this card.

I had a great time making these four quick and simple cards.  Each card took me 10 minutes or less to make. These kits are great for brand new stampers or someone who wants quick and simple projects.  so sign up today by going to the website - mypaperpumpkin.com.

My post today is a variation of a card by Kimberly Van Diepen that I spotted on Pinterest.  This was my first opportunity to use the new Washi Tape from the This and That Bundle.  It is so great--easy to use.  I used the tape to cover a piece of Whisper White. If you don't get it right the first time, don't worry it is easy to reposition.

Kind and Cozy Thank You

I am thankful to have a wonderful upline, Mary Fish.  She is hosting a special weekend for all of the members of the Stampin' Pretty Pals. They are a great group of people so fun, friendly, and supportive.  We have been challenged to make a card which expresses our gratitude.  I teamed the Kind and Cozy stamp set and the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper to make this cute card.

The card base is a 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" piece of Whisper White, which was scored at 4 1/4".  The card front is a combination of Melon Mambo card stock and Gingham Garden DSP.  The focal point is stamped and layered using the Kind and Cozy Stamp set.

A Round Array

One of my favorite things about Stampin' Up products is the how everything just fits together.  The paper, the ink, the punches and the framelits.  I am very particular.  In the past, I would go from store to store to find just the right color of ink or paper for a card or scrapbook page.  I was constantly looking for just the right punch or die cut.  Gone are those days because Stampin' Up does the work for me.  Check out today's card.  I just love how our punches work together.
On this card I stamped a sentiment from the A Round Array Stamp Set and punched it out with the 7/8" Scallop Punch.  The sentiment was layered on a 1" Circle, 1 1/4" Scallop, 1 1/2" Circle, and
1 3/4" Scallop.  I added three pennants and a small flower button which was threaded with Island Indigo Baker's Twine. So Cute and Simple!

 Card Details
Stamp Set:  A Round Array
Paper:  Gingham Garden, Midnight Muse, Whisper White and Melon Mambo
Ink:  Melon Mambo

Happy Day

Do you ever find scraps of failed projects on your stampin' table?  Well, sometimes I try something and then just can't figure out how to use it.  A while back I stamped a few medallions from the Happy Day Stamp Set on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I was not pleased with the result so I did not use it on my blog hop project.  This past weekend I was cleaning off my table, found this card front and decided I just could not throw it away.  I am such a paper scrap hoarder
I have to admit, I am pleased with the result.

The card base is a 4 1/4" X 11" piece of Crumb Cake card stock, which was scored at 5 1/2".  The Very Vanilla card front was added.  I added texture by running a two 1/2" X 5 1/4" strips of Basic Black through one of the Needlepoint Border folders.  The Hello There sentiment was stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla and then flagged with the 1" square punch.  Two Real Red Candy Dots were added.

Card Details
Stamp Set:  Happy Day
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Basic Black, and Crumb Cake
Ink:  Black Staz'On
Tools and Accessories:  Fancy Fan and Needlepoint Texture Folders, Real Red Candy Dots, and 1" Square Punch

Stampin' tip:  Give the Candy Dots a try!  You will love them.  They adhere well, are so easy to use and come in sets according to the Stampin' Up color families.

Altered Photo Album

I found this little photo album at one of the local big box stores.  The kraft paper cover was just perfect for decorating with my Stampin' Up supplies.  This one will be filled with pictures of my granddaughter, Annabelle, who is 9 months old.  It will be a special gift to my parents.

This was a very quick project.  I attached a doily and a Primrose Petal Label.  Then stamped the label from Everything Eleanor stamp set in Crumb Cake.  I used my scissor snips to cut it out.  A 1/2" pennant was cut from coordinating DSP and added.  Three flowers from Everything Eleanor were stamped and cut out.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach them to the label stack.  Designer Pearls were added to the  centers of the flowers.

Card Club Project

I would like to share a project we made at card club this month.  It uses several products from the new Annual Catalog.

  •  Mixing and matching different textures easily adds a lot of interest.  Check out the Mosaic and Polka Dot texture on the card.
  • Pennants are an easy way to decorate your cards.  They can be any width and any length.
  • Stampin' Up is offering several bundles in the new catalog.  Label Love and the Artisan Punch are one of my favorites.  It includes sentiments for several different occasions.
  • This card features a lot of white space, which make the sentiment and DSP pennants pop.

More Serene Silhouettes and New Release

Here it is, the June release of the Best of 25 Years(133485)!

I have ordered mine and can't wait to use it.  You can get yours by going to my online store now!

Last weekend, I spent some quality stampin' time with friends.  We tried some different stamp sets and some new techniques.  Below are some of the results.

The background started by embossing En Francais in white, stamping the image in Staz'On Black, and using sponge daubers to add Crumb Cake and Pool Party to the entire piece. The Window Frame framelit was used to cut a window in the Very Vanilla card base.  I added stitching with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker by using the framelit edge as my guide.  The sentiment was stamped in the lower right hand corner.  Then the card front was popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

This variation began with En Francais stamped in Crumb Cake, the image was stamped in Black Staz'On.  Crumb Cake was sponged on the entire background.

Card Details
Stamp Sets:  Serene Silhouettes, So Sorry or Delightful Dozens, and En Francais

Ink:  Black Staz'On, Crumb Cake, Pool Party

Bloomin' with Kindness

I often use the Direct to Paper method of stamping before adding texture with one of Stampin' Up's wonderful texture folders.  The result is a quick and beautiful card.

I started with a Primrose Petals card base.  The card front is a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla.  The floral image from Bloomin' with Kindness was stamped 3 times in the lower corner of the card front.  I stamped off on the background image.  Then the middle image was stamped without stamping off to give the appearance of being closer.  Texture was added to the card front with the Mosaic folder-- you can order it this Friday by going to my online store.  Primrose Petals ink was added to the edge with a sponge dauber.
The "So Sorry" sentiment was stamped with Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla and cropped with a small Labels framelit.   It was layered on a larger Primrose Petals piece and paper piercing was added to the edge.  A piece of Satin Stitched ribbon was placed under the sentiment.
Quick and simple!
